Peabody Energy elected Robert A. Malone to the nonexecutive role of chairman effective January 1. The veteran executive has been serving as lead independent director of Peabody since January 2013. He will succeed Gregory H. Boyce, who will retire from Peabody effective December 31. Malone is the retired executive vice president of British Petroleum and former chairman and president of BP America Inc.

Alcoa appointed Roy Harvey, executive vice president, human resources and environment, health, safety and sustainability, as president of Global Primary Products (GPP), succeeding Bob Wilt. Harvey previously served as both COO and CFO of GPP, Alcoa’s upstream business.

Teck Resources Ltd. appointed Lawrence Watkins vice president, health and safety. He joined Teck in 2014 as director, health and safety.

Centerra Gold Inc. appointed Scott Perry as CEO, replacing Ian Atkinson. Previously, he was CEO at AuRico Gold Inc. Additionally, Centerra appointed Frank Herbert as president. Herbert has been general counsel and corporate secretary of Centerra Gold since 2004.

Chinalco Mining Corp. announced that Dr. Zhang Chengzhong has resigned as its CEO and has been re-designated as a nonexecutive director. Chengzhong has also resigned as the chairman and a member of the Futures Risk Management Committee. Luan Shuwei, a nonexecutive director, is now an executive director and was appointed CEO, a member and the chairman of the Futures Risk Management Committee.

Batero Gold Corp. appointed Felipe Ferraro as president and CEO. Ferraro replaces Dr. Roger Moss. Moss will continue with the company as a technical advisor and consultant. Ferraro is currently the general manager for Cori Puno SAC, a position he has held since 2010.

Cambrian appointed its CEO, Bobby Cooper, chairman of the board, and has promoted Thomas Loucks to president. John Ryan, former president of Cambrian, was appointed vice president of business development.

Primero Mining Corp. appointed Tamara Brown as vice president, corporate development. Brown will succeed David Sandison. Brown held the position of vice president, investor relations, with Primero.

Rubicon Minerals Corp. announced that Michael A. Lalonde has left the company. Michael D. Winship, currently a director, has been appointed to the role of president and CEO on an interim basis. Winship was appointed to the board in 2011. He was most recently the president and CEO of Orvana Minerals.

African Potash appointed Elias Pungong to the board as a nonexecutive director. Ed Marlow is stepping down from the board. His current role is senior partner and oil and gas leader for Africa at Ernst & Young.

McEwen Mining Inc. announced that Perry Ing, vice president and CFO, will resign.

Bauxite Resources Ltd. announced that CEO and Executive Director Peter Canterbury resigned. The board has appointed Sam Middlemas to replace him. Middlemas has been with the company for more than three years as company secretary and was acting CEO prior to the appointment of Canterbury.

Eco Oro Minerals Corp. appointed Mark Moseley-Williams as president and COO. Most recently, he was president and COO for Continental Gold located in Medellín, Colombia.

Search Minerals Inc. appointed Greg Andrews as CEO. He will also continue to hold his current position as president.

Caribou King Resources Ltd. appointed Dr. Roger Moss as interim CEO and Arno Brand as project manager to help advance the graphite projects in Namibia and Quebec.

Tiger Resources appointed senior mining industry professional Mark Connelly as an independent nonexecutive director.

ABM Resources appointed Brett Lambert interim CEO while the company undertakes a formal recruiting process for the position of managing director. Darren Holden has stepped down as managing director, but will continue as general manager of geology and business development.

Compass Minerals appointed Diana Toman senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Most recently, Toman was vice president, strategy and general counsel, Asia Pacific and Africa for General Cable Corp.

Professor Alice Clark has joined the Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) as the director of production centres, providing leadership across the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC) and the WH Bryan Mining & Geology Research Centre (BRC). She has 30 years of minerals industry experience and has held senior managerial positions as well as consulting to government and major resources groups involved in operations development, and mergers and acquisitions.

Valence Industries said Christopher Darby has decided to resign as managing director and CEO to accept an executive strategy and customer-focused role within the company. COO Robert Mencel will be appointed managing director effective December 1.

Superior Industries named Mike Schultz its product manager for the company’s new crushing equipment product solutions. Most recently, Schultz was employed at Terex Mineral Processing Systems as a market area director.

Dennis Ziegler, longtime CEO of GIW Industries Inc., is retiring. Ziegler joined GIW in October 1999.

ALLU Group Inc. announced Edgar J. Chavez will take over as their executive vice president and general manager. For the last five years, Chavez has served as director, sales, marketing and product support for PACCAR Inc. winch division.

BKT USA Inc. named Mike Connor head of OE sales. He has held positions as general manager of Mefro Wheels USA and president/COO of Redco Wheel.

Jari Ålgars joined Outotec as CFO and member of the executive board. He has previously worked for Kone Oyj. Mikko Puolakka, current CFO, will continue working until January 31. Minna Aila, senior vice president, marketing, communications and corporate responsibility and member of the executive board, left the company. Other executive board members will cover her duties until a replacement is found.

Check-6 International appointed Laura Owen as the CEO. She joined the board of directors for Check-6 in December 2014. Previously, she was the founder and CEO of PontSalus.

Fenner Dunlop named Edwin Have as its executive director, Northern Hemisphere. Cassandra Pan, president, has retired. David Landgren has been appointed executive director, Southern Hemisphere.

Northern Light Technologies announced Tony Napier as business unit manager, global digital solutions. His previous roles span from business owner to CEO of multiple major mining companies in Australia, where he acquired in-depth knowledge of both Leaky Feeder UHF/VHF and Wi-Fi.
