Join us for the three most productive days in open-pit mining

Held every two years, Haulage & Loading is the conference for surface mining professionals. The event, which brings mine operators and suppliers together in an informal Arizona resort setting, focuses on improving surface mining operations in general and truck-shovel loading in particular. The technical program offers continuing education for mining engineers and mine managers, and the exhibit allows suppliers to interact with customers.

In 2023, nearly 170 mining professionals attended the event, including personnel from Agnico Eagle Mines, Asarco, Barrick Gold, Colowyo Coal, Detour Gold, Freeport-McMoRan, Hudbay Resources, Imperial Oil, Kinross Gold, KMC Mining, Marubeni Copper, Mississippi Lime Co., Montana Resources, Navajo Transitional Energy Co., Peabody Energy, Syncrude Canada, Suncor Energy, and Usibelli Coal.

The venue, the Hilton El Conquistador Resort in Tucson, Arizona, is an affordable resort with room rates starting at $215 per night. It is full service, family friendly golf resort, located in the heart of copper mining country.

Meals are covered with the conference fees, including the opening reception, breakfast all three days and lunch on Monday and Tuesday.

Haulage & Loading is produced by Mining Media International (MMI), the company that publishes Engineering & Mining Journal (E&MJ) and Coal Age. Working in cooperation with Dr. Tim Joseph, a haulage and loading expert who retired from the University of Alberta’s mining engineering department, MMI organizes a top-notch technical program. A popular past speaker, Tim offers delegates practical ideas they can immediately implement at the mine to improve operations.
