Nokia partnered with Claro Chile to build a private wireless network capable of supporting autonomous mining operations at Gold Fields’ Salares Norte mine.

The 4.9G solution includes AirScale radio, small cells, packet core, IP routers and the NetAct network management system. The network will connect 150 sensors and 72 connected vehicles and machines. It will enable voice, data, internet and video communications. Nokia and Claro Chile will provide professional services, such as network design, testing and deployment.
