Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia acquired Otraco International from Downer EDI for roughly $61 million. With roughly 860 employees, Otraco makes off-the-road tire management solutions.
The development will accelerate the growth of Bridgestone’s global mining solutions business, Bridgeston reported.
“Acquiring Otraco will allow us to quickly expand our mining solutions business in key markets and create growth opportunities with existing mining customers,” said Misahiro Higashi, chief operating officer, Bridgestone. “Otraco has an extensive service network built on strong customer relationships and we are excited for their team of experts to join Bridgestone.”
