Emerson Process Management’s new CSI9360 vibration/position transmitter isintended to provide an economical solution for extending basic protection to compressor, pump and fan assets. Developed using OEM-supplied specifications, the transmitter detects emerging sleeve-bearing issues by capturing vibration or position data and translating it into a 4-20 mA signal for monitoring. This advanced warning allows customersto shut down these assets before significantequipment damage occurs or productionis impacted. The CSI 9360 helpsusers save money by reducing the needfor multiple types of transmitters. It canbe field-configured for three radial vibrationranges or position with invertibleposition signal, selectable sensor loopresponse times and optional sensor faultlock out times. While most transmittersstandardize on 5-mm sensors, the CSI9360 supports multiple eddy currentsensor sizes. The transmitter has flexibleoptions for accessing data, making it easierto take timely, corrective action. Fordata collection and analysis, the bufferedoutput can be accessed through a SMBconnection by a portable analyzer suchas the CSI 2140. The screw terminalbuffered output connection can bedirectly wired to a monitoring system fordetailed analysis or troubleshooting. TheCSI 9360 is loop-powered with a standard DIN rail mounting clip or optional panel mount adaptor.
