EuroChem Group AG’s LLC EuroChem-Usolskiy Potash Complex awarded a contract to SIEMAG TECBERG for engineering, production, delivery, supervision and commissioning of shaft hoisting systems for material extraction and for personnel.

The shaft hoisting system for material extraction includes a 4.55-megawatt (MW) 6-meter-diameter double-drum winding machine for skip-skip extraction with an annual capacity of 4.2 million metric tons (mt), sliding bearings with bearing lubrication, an SB1 hydraulic braking system, rope sheaves for deflection, automation and signaling equipment. The supplier will also deliver raw material containers for hoisting, loading stations on two levels, and two 6-m-diameter rope deflection sheaves.

The shaft hoisting system for personnel and equipment includes a 1.5-MW, 3.6-m-diameter 1-rope drum hoisting machine with a gearbox, rolling bearings, an SB 1 hydraulic braking system, automation and signaling equipment, and rope sheave for deflection. It also includes a 1-stage cage with a 10-mt payload capacity and two cage-arresting devices.

The solutions will be built at the TECBERG park at auf der Kalteiche before transportation to and commissioning at the mine site.

The Usolskiy Potash Complex is on Verkhnekamskoe, one of the world’s largest potash deposits, near Perm, Russia.
