Normet announced the opening of its Center of Excellence at Jaipur, Rajasthan in India. The company said the facility will be a global equipment production facility, global service rebuild center, global research and development center, a data analytics hub, and a technology training center for operations and maintenance.

The new facility includes a 14,000-m2 factory and amenities area, and a 1,900-m2 office area. The factory is equipped with assembly line and stations, painting facilities, remanufacturing stations, and a proto shop with advanced testing facilities. It is supported by a 600-kW solar plant.

The Center is the largest greenfield project for the company, and will serve both Indian and global markets. It is the company’s second global manufacturing hub. The first is located in Iisalmi, Finland.

The opening caps decades of company investments in infrastructure and mining projects in India, Normet said. “India represents a significant portion of Normet’s business and the Center of Excellence will support the future growth and development of our company,” said CEO Ed Santamaria.

Sales to customers in recent years has proven to be transformational for Normet, said Subhasis Mohanty, vice president, Normet India. “We aim for ambitious growth year on year and have projects in the pipeline in both the underground and infrastructure sectors in the country.”
