AngloGold Ashanti contracted Veolia Ghana Ltd. for water treatment at its Obuasi gold mine in Ghana. Under the three-year contract, the latter will operate and maintain the four wastewater and two drinking water treatment plants at the mine site. Veolia completed a similar contract for the previous three years. Leadership at Veolia reported the new contract affirmed the company’s operational expertise in the field. “By optimizing the process water treatment for the Obuasi gold mine, we have an opportunity to improve the productivity of this crucial operation,” Christophe Maquet, director, Africa and the Middle East zone, Veolia Ghana Ltd., said.
