CGG launched TailingsPulse, a tailings storage facilities monitoring solution. It eliminates blind spots, and helps users optimize management and mitigate risks, the company said.
TailingsPulse uses and analyzes data from “Earth observation,” aerial drones, seismic technologies, sensors and more to characterize and monitor tailings storage facilities and their surroundings. It builds on the company’s MineScope Earth observation intelligence service.
TailingsPulse supports the responsible management of mineral resources and associated waste, and provides early warnings of evolving risks within the facilities, CGG said.
The release coincides with increasing acceptance of new standards for tailings management offered by the United Nations and adopted by some of the world’s biggest miners. The enhanced situational awareness offered by the solution can help mines achieve sustainable development goals and meet regulatory requirements, CGG said.
