Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions introduced AutoMine Flexible Safety Zone for its AutoMine underground autonomous mining solution. The new capability creates alternating safety zone states between autonomous and manual operation.
With the AutoMine Flexible Safety Zone, autonomous mining equipment can operate continuously in the automated area while allowing for intersections with manual equipment. It allows manual equipment to cross automated equipment routes and share dump or load points. The feature prevents autonomous equipment from entering a space where a manned machine is operating.
Additionally, AutoMine access barriers are equipped with technology that informs operators of the shared area status with visual and audible indicators.
