Gatos Silver, Inc. announced record third-quarter production results at its Cerro Los Gatos (CLG) mine in Chihuahua, Mexico. The company also reported solid results for the nine months that ended September 30, 2022.

Dale Andres, CEO of Gatos Silver, commented that they have increased production guidance and adjusted cost guidance for 2022. “Our continued strong operating performance at CLG during the quarter reflects the planned production sequence. With mill throughput exceeding design capacity by 15% and with higher ore grades,” he highlighted. He added that his priority exploration and defining drilling objectives are to extend the life of the mine.

According to the company, CLG achieved record production of silver, zinc and lead during the third quarter of 2022. Silver production was 2.7 million ounces (oz), an increase of 59% compared to the third quarter of 2021. Meanwhile, zinc production was 17.8 million lb, an increase of 32%. While lead production was 12.2 million lb, 13% more than the comparable quarter in 2021.

During Q3, the mill processed a record average rate of 2,862 tons per day, with significantly higher ore grades processed during the period.
