Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions was awarded a $216 million equipment contract from BHP for the Jansen Potash project, located in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. The contract follows several years of close collaboration between the two to develop underground equipment and automation solutions.

The delivery period of the equipment starts in Q3 2023 and runs to 2026.

The Jansen project has the potential to be the largest potash mine in the world and is expected to operate for up to 100 years, producing potassium for fertilizer. Start of production set for 2027.
