The Neptune Evaporator System from Arkansas, USA-based Neptune Systems is claimed to be a new, low-cost method for environmentally sound leachate, storm water and wastewater disposal in mining applications. The evaporator converts the liquid stream into an aerosol, which allows the water to evaporate while all contaminants settle back in a narrow alley at the front of the unit. Mounted on a trailer for easy transport on-site or to multiple locations, the evaporator typically processes an average of 4,000 gal/h (15,000 l/h) and up to 9,000 gal/h in optimum conditions.
