Outotec officials have announced their agreement with Russian Copper Co. on the design and delivery of a new concentrator for stage one of the Tominsky project in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region. The contract value will exceed $65 million.

“The new plant will represent world-class technology with the latest innovations in instrumentation and automation supporting sustainable and efficient operations,” said Outotec CEO Pertti Korhonen.

Russian Copper is developing the large porphyry deposit to produce concentrate by Q3 2015. Outotec’s delivery includes engineering of the concentrating process, proprietary, and key equipment, such as TankCell 300 flotation cells, thickeners, analyzers and automation, along with installation and commissioning supervision services.

Deliveries are scheduled for 2014. Once operational, the concentrator will first treat 17 million metric tons of ore annually while producing 63,000 mt of copper in concentrate to be further processed in Russian Copper’s smelters.
