Allied Nevada Gold Corp. achieved a record average quarterly mining rate of 210,000 tons per day at its Hycroft mine during the fourth quarter, while gold production surged 55% from Q3 to Q4 in 2012 at about 46,900 oz. Overall 2013 gold production, meanwhile, is expected to double to between 225,000 and 250,000 oz.

“Our impressive accomplishments have been advancing permitting” to facilitate construction and operation, said President and CEO Scott Caldwell. “We are confident the challenges we have encountered are short-term and see the operation moving in the right direction.”

Allied’s gyratory crushing system, its new 20,000 gpm Merrill-Crowe plant and north leach pad are expected to become operational in 2013, the company added. Overall sales in the first six months of 2013 are expected at between 90,000 and 100,000 gold oz.
