Michelin launched MICHELIN MEMS LITE, an entry-level tire monitoring solution that reports tire pressure and temperature remotely. For miner’s running 100- to 150-ton trucks, the solution adds safety and delivers savings, the company said.
Hardware includes proven liquid-proof sensors mounted inside the tires, where data is captured periodically as vehicles drive by fixed reading stations strategically located at the mine site. The data is then sent remotely to connected devices through a local server or secure cloud server. Alerts can be set and automatically sent to mobile devices.
The solution delivers safety and costs savings by remotely collecting critical data that can then be used to plan maintenance to decrease downtime.
MEMS LITE can be easily upgraded to MEMS4, Michelin said. Both solutions use the same platform and communication protocols.
