Australian gold miner Northern Star selected Sandvik to supply a fleet for its Australian Operations. Sandvik will deliver 17 Toro TH663i trucks, 10 Toro LH621i loaders, four Toro LH517i loaders, and a DD422i development jumbo with dual control.

The Toro TH663i trucks each have a 63-metric-ton (mt) carrying capacity and low overall equipment weight for high ramp speeds, and come with Operator Speed Assist. Capable of high-speed tramming, the 17-mt Toro LH517i loaders provide superior hydraulic power for fast bucket filling, Sandvik said. Capable of fast bucket filling and high ramp speeds, the 21-mt Toro LH621i loaders are engineered for rapid mine development and large-scale underground production.

Loader and truck deliveries are planned to begin in Q3 2023 and continue into Q2 2025. The drill is scheduled for delivery in Q2 2024.

Northern Star operates several open pit and underground mines in Western Australia and Alaska, U.S.A.
