Berthold released the LB474, a potassium (and radioactive isotope K-40) content-measurement system for the potash industry. The system uses three different types of detectors, depending on the process conditions and mechanical arrangement, the company reported. It is non-contacting, almost eliminating maintenance and downtime.

Benefits include outstanding sensitivity, proven technology, real-time measurement, and easy installation, the company reported. The system features an online display, enhanced diagnostics, an event log, NRTL approval, and optionality with a HART connection.
