On April 3, the Argentinian government declared mining as an essential service for the country, which allowed Yamana Gold to resume full operations at Cerro Moro. The company said it was positively encouraged by the Argentine government’s statement and plans to resume operations in an orderly and gradual manner with attention to health and safety requirements.

The company said it has complied with all standards and measures established at the national, provincial and municipal levels. The company said it will continue to consult with national and international medical experts along with municipal, provincial, and national governments, its workforce, and other interested parties.

As the original temporary restraining order designated mining as an essential service, subject to certain limitations on activities, the company said it is trying to determine whether the extension applies to mining companies.
