Scotland-based Terex Trucks has won a Vice President Award for outstanding achievement at the Scottish Engineering Awards. Paul Douglas, managing director of Terex Trucks, accepted the award at the ceremony, which was held at the Hilton Glasgow hotel on May 16. Terex Trucks became a division of Volvo Construction Equipment in 2014 and since then has received major investments into their factory, products and quality processes. These efforts were recognized by the accolade.

“We are absolutely delighted to receive this award,” Douglas said. “It reflects our continuous efforts in investing in our people, facility and product quality. To be recognized for this is a great accolade and it is a real motivator to continue to find innovative ways to design, build and market our products whilst investing in our team members, new apprentices and community projects.”

The Scottish Engineering Awards honor the achievements of the Scottish manufacturing and engineering industry and celebrate the country’s diversity, vibrancy and innovation within the sector. The jury chose companies based on local investment and employee training, as well as their ability to be innovative. Profitability, Lean Transformation Reinvention and HQSE (Health, Quality, Safety and Environment) also played a part.
