Greenland Resources Inc. signed a letter of intent with FLSmidth for supply of metallurgical process equipment, technology, services, and technical solutions for its Malmbjerg molybdenum project. The company is focused on the development of this Climax type pure molybdenum deposit located in central east Greenland. The operation is envisioned as an open pit mine with an environmentally friendly design focused on reduced water usage, low aquatic disturbance and low footprint due to modularized infrastructure. A feasibility study completed in 2022 determined proven and probable reserves of 245 million metric tons (mt) at 0.176% MoS2, or 571 million lb of molybdenum. High-grade moly will be mined during the first half of the mine’s life, and Greenland expects the average annual production for years one to 10 to be 32.8 million lb/y of molybdenum.
