Redbank Copper Ltd. and Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) are teaming up in a new joint exploration and research initiative at Redbank’s 100%-owned Redbank copper project in the Australia’s Northern Territory. Under the terms of the agreement, Redbank and CSIRO will work together to enhance the geological understanding of the region, including large-scale polymetallic sulphide deposits and carbonate-hosted strata-bound copper deposits.

CSIRO’s contributions will include the application of sophisticated exploration techniques to determine the genesis and likely locations of new mineral discoveries and 3-D modeling of Redbank’s known discoveries. CSIRO will also investigate sampling and micro-characterization of the oxide and sulphide copper breccia systems. The first phase of the exploration and research agreement will extend over approximately eight months and will be completed in early 2012, with information generated by the program expected to be available for the 2012 exploration field season.
