Tognum America has changed its name to MTU America. Based in Michigan, MTU is responsible for manufacture, development, sales and service of engines, propulsion and drive systems, and MTU Onsite Energy distributed energy systems in and across the Americas.
MTU also maintains manufacturing facilities in Aiken, South Carolina, and Mankato, Minnesota. The corporate name change aligns the company more closely with facilities and offices across North America. MTU’s holding company, the former Tognum AG, has also been renamed Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG.
Since Q1 2013, the Friedrichshafen, Germany-based specialist for large engines, propulsion systems and distributed energy systems has been a 100% owned subsidiary of Rolls-Royce plc and Daimler AG, each owning a 50% Joint Venture (JV) interest.
The companies including MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH, meanwhile, are now consolidated into Rolls-Royce Group’s results since Q1 2013. Regional Asia headquarters, previously Tognum Asia Pte. Ltd., is also renamed MTU Asia Pte. Ltd.
