Chile’s Collahuasi Mine contracted Motorola Solutions to control the mine’s mission-critical communications system, the latter reported. The former selected a Motorola Solutions Premier communications system control and management service package, which includes local technical support, network monitoring from the Motorola Solutions Network Operations Center in Illinois (United States), ongoing radio hardware maintenance, cyber security monitoring, and prevention and diagnosis. System management will include 24/7 monitoring and predictive analyses of potential issues using statistical studies on traffic, failure occurrence and patch installation control. The service will allow for installed radio and hardware repairs to ensure stable communications as well as safer and enhanced mining operations. Jointly owned by Anglo American, Glencore and Japan Collahuasi Resources B.V., Collahuasi is one of the largest copper operations in the world.
