Nexans launched a new range of low-carbon distribution grid cables to the French market. Compared to predecessor competition, the cables reduce greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 50%, the company said.

The cables use low-carbon aluminum and recycled plastic, and were made using renewable or decarbonized energy, Nexans said. “This first offer is part of an ambitious Nexans carbon trajectory aimed at reducing emissions by 4.2% per year between 2019 and 2030.”

The company provides all the environmental data for its products using the PEP Ecopassport.
