Amid takeover by Yamana Gold Inc. and Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd., Osisko Mining reported its Canadian Malartic mine hit record numbers last month with 51,114 gold oz production with 1,709,572-ton-mill throughput; since operations began in Q2 2011, production has totaled 1,292,043 gold oz.
Sean Boyd, CEO of Agnico Eagle, was enthusiastic about the acquisition given last month’s figures. “These levels reflect significant potential to leverage expertise to unlock additional value,” he said in a joint statement with Yamana officials, both Canada-based. “We have been impressed with the collaboration our teams have achieved in a short period.”
