Norilsk Nickel Reopens the Maggie Hays Mine in Australia

Norilsk Nickel recently resumed production at the Maggie Hays mine its Lake Johnston operations, located near Norseman, Western Australia. The monthly production capacity of the mine is 100,000 metric tons (mt) of ore with an average nickel grade of 1.3%. Norilsk acquired the Lake Johnston operations from LionOre in 2007 and idled production when nickel price fell in 2009.
