Officials at Tiger Resources Ltd. have reported construction of their Stage 2 solvent extraction electro-winning (SXEW) plant at the Kipoi Copper Project in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is on schedule for a completion by Q3 2014.

Principal contractor Senet Pty Ltd. outperformed expectations with major steel, buildings, modules, tanks, cathodes and anodes arriving at Kipoi’s bonded warehouse ahead of schedule, according to company officials. The prompt delivery will reduce time constratints since, with most major assets on-site, various constructions can begin simultaneously, company officials said.

A recent review found the project within its $161 million budget, according to Tiger Managing Director Brad Marwood. “Progress on site is very pleasing,” he said. “It’s evident that local expertise and knowledge within the company and its contractors is the key to timely implementation.”
