The wildfire evacuation order for Teck Resources Ltd.’s Highland Valley Copper Operations (HVC) in south-central British Columbia issued by the District of Logan Lake announced on August 15 was lifted on August 18. HVC has resumed operations and is now in the process of ramping back up to full production.

Copper production guidance will be updated after the risk of further effect on operations from wildfires subsides, according to the company. Copper production in 2021 was previously anticipated to be between 128,000 and 133,000 metric tons.
