In April, the team at Detour Lake mine in northern Ontario reached a tremendous milestone for the operation, pouring their 5 millionth ounce of gold since commercial production began at the site in 2013. That’s approximately 10,000 bars of gold, which when stacked on top of each other would be higher than the CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario.
This is a true milestone in Detour Lake’s life of mine. The team worked together and steadily increased production since production was commenced under Detour Gold in 2013, the company said. There were a lot of long hours, dedication and effort put in by employees, partners, and important stakeholders to help the company achieve this milestone.
