Metso and ZAO Russian Copper Co. (RMK) have signed a contract to supply crushing, screening and grinding equipment, as well as on-site services for six years, to the first plant of the new Tominsky GOK copper concentrator in the Chelyabinskya region in southwestern Russia. The total value of the contract is approximately EUR 150 million ($196 million) with equipment representing EUR 65 million ($85 million).

Metso will supply a primary gyratory crusher, three cone crushers, one semi-autogenous grinding mill, three screens and three ball mills for the first plant of the new Tominsky GOK copper concentrator. The delivery also includes on-site supervisory services for the installation and commissioning, and on-site training for operating personnel. The equipment deliveries will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2015.

The service contract includes maintenance, planning and operational assistance, process and product support services, as well as wear and spare parts and components for the comminution circuit. Metso will also maintain auxiliary equipment for the whole comminution circuit from the gyratory crusher to the hydro-cyclones. The startup of the first Tominsky plant is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016.
