The International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) has launched the report of its Q4 Health and Safety Conference in Santiago, Chile, uniting 19 companies, 300 delegates and five CEOs to share ideas and lessons learned.

The report by the London-based umbrella group highlights the importance of collaboration culture and leadership in one of the world’s most important extractive natural resource sector by chronicling 19 sessions.

Putting people first was a common theme cited with leadership representing the primary enablers of good health and safety performance. The conference also emphasized a growing willingness for collaboration via shared experience and the integration well-being as a concept guiding process development and the outcome of sound health and safety management.
