Hexagon Mining, an information technology provider of planning, operations and safety solutions for the mining industry, announced this week the relocation and expansion of its Tucson, Arizona-based North American headquarters to downtown Tucson. Of its 580 employees worldwide, 140 people work in Tucson and the company plans to add 120 jobs in Tucson over the next five years. The new positions will include executive management, IT, engineering, research and development, product development/management, sales, human resources, legal, marketing, and administrative/support.

“We were looking at multiple cities for a new building suited for a North American headquarters of a global technology company,” said Hélio Samora, president, Hexagon Mining. “Our new downtown Tucson location and image is highly attractive for millennial talent from universities and abroad. We plan to benefit the entire Tucson region by hosting clients for training, sales presentations and events.”

The new downtown digs will open in summer 2018. The company will lease 26,000 square feet on the third and fourth floors of the Bourn Cos. development. The total capital investment is estimated at $9.4 million.
