Baja Mining’s subsidiary Minera y Metalurgica del Boleo (MMB) is targeting mechanical completion of its Boleo copper circuit by the end of January. But given potential holiday manpower shortages, they added, there is potential for delay; Baja holds a 10% ownership stake in MMB.

Plant commissioning, meanwhile, is forecast to extend into Q2, with first ore targeted for May 1, and first copper production by June 1. Mechanical completion of the cobalt zinc circuits is now scheduled at the earliest for mid-May, with first production slated for July 1.

Korea Resources Corp. and MMB, meanwhile, are continuing discussions with banks to renegotiate lending facilities for a longer-term standstill arrangement; the previous agreement expired in May 2013.
