Mining schools worldwide will gather at the Camborne School of Mines (CSM) in Cornwall, England, March 28-April 1 for the 2018 International Mining Games. Future engineers from mining schools compete in seven events: Swede saw, jackleg drilling, hand-steeling, gold panning, track stand, mucking and surveying. Medals are awarded for the top three teams in each individual event as well as the overall winners.

At CSM, the teams will compete at King Edward’s mine. The event is sponsored in part by the CSM Trust and they and the individual teams are looking for additional sponsorships. While waiting for the concrete blocks for the hand-steeling event to arrive, the 2018 organizing committee has begun planning and organizing the event.

Updates will be available at www.csmimg.com. For more details on potential sponsorship and on the teams competing, please contact Lewis Fletcher at lcf208@exeter.ac.uk.
