Atlas Copco has announced a repeat order for $9.2 million of its underground mining equipment from Hindustan Zinc, a unit of the diversified natural resources major Vedanta Resources plc, to be used in the Zawar and Kayad mines in northwestern India. “We share a valuable partnership with Vedanta, and this repeat order underlines our focus on customer satisfaction and ability to deliver customer productivity,” said Bob Fassl, business area president for Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique. The equipment, which includes face drilling rigs as well as loading and hauling machines, will be delivered in 2013, according to Atlas officials.
