Officials at ABB have announced the roll-out of their on-site ABB Mine Location Intelligence, powered by software solutions provider Mobilaris. It offers support with real-time vehicle, equipment, and personnel decision positioning in deep-pit mines for safety and productivity.
The offering, according to ABB reps, includes Web-based user interfaces in 3-D showing real-time asset and personnel location, along with spatial search and navigation support, as well as advanced data mining and analysis; geofence management and creation are additionally available.
The location intelligence device further reduces evacuation time by showing the closest rescue chambers and optimum emergency escape routes, ABB officials added, while keeping miners away from dangerous areas via surveillance. In addition, it can allow communication through voice, message and CCTV services.
