ATAC Resources has announced plans for three 2018 exploration projects on its 1,700-km2 Rackla gold property in east-central Yukon, Canada. Included are the Orion project, where Barrick Gold is working on an earn-in option agreement, and the Osiris and Rau projects, which are wholly owned and operated by ATAC.
Barrick’s $6 million 2018 diamond drill program at the Orion project will consist of approximately 10,000 meters (m). The presence of robust, Carlin-type alteration identified in 2017 diamond drill holes, well away from any surface geochemical anomalies, demonstrated that favorable environments for the development of gold mineralization at Orion are more extensive than previously understood.
