Nuinsco Resources reports that Xstrata Copper has initiated a 7,500-m diamond drilling program at the Berta copper porphyry exploration project in northeast Turkey. The project is owned 64% by Xstrata and 36% by Nuinsco. Up to nine diamond drill holes will be collared in a work program that follows up on the widespread and very anomalous copper mineralization identified in previous programs. The drilling will target areas not previously drilled but that are overlain by very strong copper-in-soil anomalies.

Results from past drill programs conducted at Berta between 2005 and 2008 returned very positive results, including one intercept of 710.9 m grading 0.28% copper and 0.07g/mt gold between 3.80 m and 714.7 m below surface and another of 164.0 m grading 0.20% copper and 0.06 g/mt gold between 250.5 m and 414.5 m below surface.

The Berta property is located approximately 50 km south of the Black Sea within the prolifically mineralized Tethyan-Eurasian Metallogenic Belt. (www.nuinsco.ca)
