Nickel Mountain Resources has significantly upgraded the mineral resources at its Rönnbäcken nickel project in northern Sweden, converting 86.5 million mt from inferred to indicated. Mineral resources at the project now total 668.3 million mt in the measured and indicated categories, with an average total nickel content of 0.176%, of which 0.099% is nickel in sulphide.

For the project as a whole, 97% of the mineral resources are now in the measured and indicated categories and contain 1.17 million mt of total nickel, of which 657,000 mt of nickel is in sulphide. Nickel Mountain’s next objective is to convert these mineral resources to reserves as part of a forthcoming prefeasibility study. The company has a long-term goal of producing 26,000 mt/y of nickel in concentrates from the Rönnbäcken project. (www.nickelmountain.se)
