Mustang Minerals has announced a new drill discovery of platinum and palladium (PGM) mineralization at shallow depth at its 100%-owned Mayville property in southeastern Manitoba. A diamond drill hole intersected 9.15 m at an average grade of 9.5 g/mt combined PGMs from 55.5 m depth within a wider zone of 41.16 m at an average grade of 2.9 g/mt PGMs. The highest grade interval is 1.52 m at 8.9 g/mt platinum and 22.6 g/mt palladium, plus 0.7 g/mt rhodium.
While the extent of the zone of PGM mineralization at the Mayville property is not yet known, Mustang is planning a substantial drilling program to test the potential of the new discovery at depth and along strike from the two initial drill holes. Mustang also will conduct a detailed ground magnetics IP survey to better define the anomalies.
Mustang has so far completed a total of 24 reconnaissance drill holes on the Mayville property. The first three holes intersected a gabbro-hosted copper-nickel zone approximately 250 m south of the new PGM drill discovery. The Mayville project is located 35 km by road from Mustang’s Makwa project.
