Saturn Metals has resumed exploration drilling at its 100% owned Apollo Hill gold project 60 km southeast of Leonora, Western Australia. A program of up to 13,000 m of reverse circulation drilling in 70 holes is targeting newly discovered, shallow, high-grade hanging wall zones, with an initial focus on testing step-out areas where recent mapping and rock chip sampling have produced favorable results.

Recent high-grade intercepts have included 17 m grading 2.96 g/mt gold from 41 m down hole and 7 m grading 6.59 g/mt from 34 m. The project’s current mineral resource stands at 20.7 million mt grading 1 g/mt gold for 685,000 oz of contained gold.

Saturn Metals Managing Director Ian Bamborough commented, “We are extremely encouraged by the results we have seen to date from the recently discovered hanging wall zones, and, as a result, we are once again stepping up exploration efforts. This new program of drilling will further test the potential of these zones and could deliver another step change in the size and grade of the Apollo Hill gold system.”
