Orion Minerals has announced initial mineral resources for its Prieska zinc-copper project in South Africa’s Northern Cape province. As of year-end 2017, Orion had completed approximately 42,000 m of drilling on the project’s Deep Sulphide target and had succeeded in validating extensive historic data for inclusion in geological modeling and geostatistical estimation.
Initial inferred resources for the Deep Sulphide target stand at 22.65 million mt grading 3.71% zinc, 1.17% copper, 0.21 g/mt gold, and 9.49 g/mt silver. Drilling is ongoing during the first half of 2018 to upgrade the confidence classification of a substantial portion of the project’s resources.
