Newcrest Mining has released an updated feasibility study of the Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project in Papua New Guinea. The project is currently a 50/50 joint venture between Newcrest and Harmony Gold. The state of Papua New Guinea has the right to purchase, at a pro rata share of accumulated exploration expenditure, up to a 30% equity interest at any time before the commencement of mining.
