Carlson Software released the Carlson Aerial Platform (CAP50). It offers up to 2.7 kg of payload capacity and features payload options for photogrammetry, LiDAR, and bathymetry.
The U.S.A.-made quadcopter features a carbon fiber frame and has 465-KV motors rotating 470-mm carbon fiber propellers powered by a rechargeable battery. Onboard is an RTK GNSS that uses a LiDAR rangefinder for altitude accuracy and vertical stability. The CAP50 can be programmed and controlled via an included flight controller with a touchscreen.
The CAP50 can fly for 22 minutes with a 2.25-kg payload and has been tested against 80.5 km/h winds with a maximum payload, Carlson Software said. The onboard omnidirectional collision avoidance system is LiDAR rangefinder-based and works in both day and night conditions.
Carlson software packages and bundles, including Carlson PhotoCapture and Carlson Point Cloud, are available to suit the workflow, application, and capture method of all CAP50 payload options.
