Sandvik released the xSeries family of rotary and down-the-hole drills, which, the company reported, feature added intelligence and improved operator ergonomics, providing operators with the right balance of reliability and technology to drill the perfect hole safely. Highlights include a touchscreen interface for the Sandvik Automation Module for use of machine health monitoring systems, the components of the i-Series machine, and for improved user experience; Sandvik’s Compressor Management System Lite; an oversized driller’s window; bolt-on mast locks; and a swivel-enabled operator’s seat. Company leadership said the release fits with the company’s history of making durable products that can operate for decades. “In developing the xSeries, we’ve taken our customers’ feedback into our research and development efforts and are proud of the newest addition to our product line,” said Jacquez Britz, vice president, surface pedestal drills, Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology.
