Amerex introduced the SafetyNet EV gas detection system, which provides early detection of lithium-ion battery fires in commercial electric vehicle fleets.
Hardware includes sensors strategically placed in or around the vehicle battery compartments to detect gases
from battery cells at trace levels ahead of a thermal runaway event. When those gases are detected at threshold levels, the system sends an alert, giving the driver time to take action, the company said.
Amerex also makes high-performance commercial fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems.
