Proof Engineers, a Queensland, Australia, company, has developed Dustective—a real-time mobile dust monitor designed to accurately measure dust generation from various sources.
The Dustective system measures Dust Control Efficiency (DCE), providing mines with quantifiable data to demonstrate, for example, compliance with industry air quality regulations. The effectiveness of dust suppression products can also be assessed with Dustective by comparing dust emissions over time after watering on treated and untreated road surfaces. Dustective is fully portable and can be installed at any dust-emitting location, allowing a mine to monitor fugitive dust emissions from sources such as haul trucks, rail wagons, stockpiles and more. Full site mapping is available, showing dust emissions in a simple color scale format indicating different levels of dust severity.
