Wenco International Mining Systems says data buffering is now available on all versions of its System 4 running on MDT5 software. In the event of a network outage, the system will continue to gather and hold shift productivity data, even over a shift change. The onboard MDT5 will also continue to record the basic data monitoring of the haul cycle even if out of radio coverage range. Once the network is back up, or once the truck comes back into radio coverage, the held data will immediately populate the database. Trucks’ statuses will update as well as load information, as if there weren’t a break in information. Wenco says its open system architecture allows this feature to operate over any Wi-Fi network. Buffering the data eliminates the need for manual entry or editing of the information. Consistent data collection across the entire fleet ensures complete and accurate mine productivity data.
