Strata Worldwide introduced Digital-BRIDGE Plus+, which, the company reported, enables underground mines to upgrade their existing leaky feeder systems with high-speed Ethernet data access while supporting VHF radio communications.

The coax cable carries both data and power for the entire system. It runs from a leaky feeder head end to a power coupler and from there to strategically placed amplifiers.

The two types of VHF BDA (bi-directional) Line Amplifiers are fully interoperable with third-party line amps, function in all VHF band frequencies, convey digital signals and offer unique gain control. One type of amp, placed every 1,000 to 1,600 ft, talks to the fiber network. The other type does the same but includes two ports for direct connection to Ethernet devices.

The QuadPort, with up to four separate VLANS, offers additional ports to supply power and data backhaul for devices.

DigitalBRIDGE Plus+ is equipped with bidirectional diagnostics and voltage detection and auto level control for consistent gain management, regardless of the number of operating channels.
